Student Leadership Teams
Middle School ASSET Team
The Middle ASSET Team is made up of students in grades 6-8. ASSET works with faculty advisors Nicole Thomas, school guidance counselor, and Seth O'Connor, school social worker, to set goals for our school based on schoolwide school climate data. Most recently, ASSET has worked to increase a sense of belonging and engagement among students at Dummerston School through a number of action projects, including:
Black Lives Matter presentatations, book shares, and school artwork.
Design of a middle school mural under the direction of Afghan muralist Negina Azimi.
Coordination of Feed the Thousands food drive.
Design and coordination of school Spirit Weeks
Development of Grades 5-8 Dodge Ball Tournament
ASSET is open to all students in grades 6-8 and meets during Middle School Exploratory time. Students receive training on topics such as restorative justice, diversity and equity, and communication.
GLOW (Gender, Love, Open-Minded Warriors)
GLOW is Dummerston School's QSA open to students in grades 4-6. GLOW meets once per week during lunchtime. Students play games, learn about LGBTQIAP+ history under the guidance of staff advisors Susannah Cassidy Friedman, Humanities teacher, and Honnee McManus, paraeducator, and support Dummerston School in becoming a more inclusive community. Over the last two years, GLOW has organized a Pride March for Dummerston School.
