Please keep your child home if they are sick. Symptoms of illnesses that may keep your child home include: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea or vomiting, stomachache, and diarrhea. Stay in touch with your medical provider. If your child has a chronic condition that includes these symptoms, a note from the medical provider is recommended. During the school day students may be sent home with these symptoms. The school nurse will review the need for a return to school plan after illness. Students must be fever free without fever reducing medicine for 24 hours in order to return to school. Students with the above symptoms must be markedly improved before returning to school.
