Julianne joined the Dummerston School community as principal in 2019 after 15 years serving as a English and social studies teacher at the secondary level and two years as WSESU Curriculum Coordinator. A resident of Guilford since 2002, Julianne enjoys long-distance running, reading, cooking, board games, volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and spending time outside with her family and dogs. Melanie has a B.A. in Psychology and has been working with children in schools and other settings for over 30 years. She began at Dummerston School in 2019. She is a lifelong learner who loves diving into new hobbies—quilting, gardening, stained glass, reading, writing stories, singing with her husband and most recently, learning to sew her own clothes. She also enjoys bicycling, cross-country skiing, and downhill skiing.
When she’s not at school, Melanie treasures time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She’s a big fan of roller coasters and shares her home with two lovable Newfoundland dogs, Oakley and Daisy, and her cat, Franny.
